Send a fax from Microsoft Office® on Windows systems

If you often use Microsoft Office programs (version 2003 or later*) and you have Microsoft Outlook as your email client, you can take advantage of the Messagnet FaxOut / Office integration option to send faxes directly from your Office files (Word, Excel, etc.)
Warning: it is not possible to send faxes to Italian mobile phones from Office programs.

To download the file, you must be registered on our site.

1. Download the file and save it on your computer in a convenient place
2. Extract the files from the compressed file Messagenet_Office.zip
3. Close all Office applications open at the time and double click on the file Messagenet_Office_Install.reg to run it
4. Confirm the two messages that appear in two different windows.

Now you can send faxes from Office:

1. Open or create a file with an Office program
2. Select
   • File/Send to/Recipient that uses an Internet fax service (for Office 2003)
   or
   • the Office/Send/Fax Internet button (for Office 2007)
3. In the Fax Service window of Office, check to see that the right sidebar contains Messagenet FAXout as the fax service provider.
4. Type in the country, area code and fax number of the recipient. If you want to send the fax to more than one recipient, click on "Add others" and type in their numbers. (Don't worry if the email addresses entered automatically in the next field seem to be wrong: this is an error of Office that is corrected by Messagenet.)
5. In the right sidebar, you will find connections to activate or deactivate the pre-set cover letter of Office and to visualise the preview.
6. Now you can send the fax. The Office fax service will send an email message from your mailbox and Messagenet will send the fax to the chosen recipient, and send you the usual loading confirmation and delivery messages.

Warning: obviously the email message must be sent from an account that has been validated for Messagenet FAXOut.

To remove the settings that automatically integrate Office with Messagenet FAXout, just double click the file Office_remove.reg, contained in the Messagenet_Office.zip folder.

* To see which version of Microsoft Office is installed on your computer, open an Office program and click on ?/About ... The name of the version of the program will be seen in the window that opens.
